The Decatur-Macon County Opportunities Corporation (DMCOC) is the local administering agency for the LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LIHEAP) administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.  The program is designed to assist low income households in meeting their home heating costs. January and February are set aside for REGULAR LIHEAP applications for all low income eligible households.Income eligible households that are disconnected may also receive appointments. Those households that have received a grant since September 2009 may not apply. All eligible households must be income-eligible and meet ALL other program criteria.  The income guidelines are as follows:

On Friday, January 15, 2010 beginning at 7:00 A.M. and continuing until 11:00 A.M./ oruntil all appointments are filled,  DMCOC staff will be at the DECATUR CIVIC CENTER, 1 GARY ANDERSON PLAZA, in Decatur, to make appointments.  All residents must reside in Macon County.  Telephone appointments will also be taken Friday, January 15, 2010, ONLY AT 428-2193.  NO TELEPHONE CALLS WILL BE TAKEN AT THE DECATUR CIVIC CENTER!!!!!
 
Appointments will be issued on a “FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED” basis and ONE (1) APPOINTMENT MADE PER PERSON, until all available appointment slots are filled.  For more information call 428-2193.
 

PARKING IS PROVIDED ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE CIVIC CENTER.

Voting early is fast, easy and convenient.
Early voting for the February 2, 2010 Primary Election begins on Monday,
January 11, 2010 and ends on January 28, 2010.
In the 2008 General Election, nearly one out of every five Illinois voters cast their vote before the polls opened on Election Day.
Some early voting centers will be open on the weekends and on the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. For a list of Early Voting locations for each election authority can be found at www.ilafl-cio.org
